New England Authors Expo

is Back!

As you know the New England Authors Expo was hit hard during the Covid outbreak and had to shut down during that time. After that, some of our key event planners had major health issues and we had to postpone reopening.

We did have one event during this time of shut down, we held a comic book event at The Museum of Printing, located in Haverhill, MA. The event hosted three comic book creators and had on display a collection of comic books and related items. We hope to have more of these, so if you have a comic book collection let us know.

Well, things are finally back to normal. We are planning on trying to hold an Expo sometime before Christmas. We are also going to have discussions with Buttonwoods Museum, to see if we can start having smaller lecture/book sale events at their location in Haverhill, MA. We are also going back to The Museum of Printing to see if we can have lectures at their location. One of the things that we are considering is inviting local publishers, printers, illustrators and authors to give discussions on the entire field of publishing a book.

If you have any ideas, for events, locations, topics or themes. Please contact us, we are open to all ideas!

Our events are normally free to the public!

Why come to these events?

by K. D. Mason

Hello fellow Author,

As I know you know, writing is a passionate pursuit. It doesn’t matter if you are writing fact or fiction or poetry, a memoir, a mystery or a romance, no matter who your audience is, from the very young to the very old, we all share that one special moment when you hold in your hand, for the very first time — your book.

Once it has become a reality, the challenge changes to how to share your passion with the world. This is difficult, more difficult than even writing and publishing your work. Unless you are really lucky and the right person, at the right time, reads your book and it ignites something in them that drives them to become your advocate, it is your job to take on that challenge.

We are not all natural salesmen. We need help. We need the opportunities to make ourselves known to a wider audience. I am writing to you about one of those opportunities. As you may or may not know, Chris Obert of Pear Tree Publishing is a person who is passionate about helping us find those opportunities. In July he hosts the New England Authors Expo, and the event has grown each year, to become one of the largest New England forums for new authors to get exposure, to network and to sell our works. Each year as it has grown and changed, it has remained true to his idea of an affordable opportunity for us. In addition to the large Expo in the summer there are smaller events that take place throughout the year.

Thank you and I hope to see you at the next event.

KD Mason
